4/18/25 Homicide Update

On April 18, 2025, at approximately 2:45 a.m., officers with the Pine Bluff Police Department were dispatched to 2600 W. 30th Avenue in reference to an unresponsive male. Upon arrival, officers discovered Asa Stewart deceased at the scene.

Detectives immediately initiated a thorough investigation and were able to develop leads that identified Quan Turner as a suspect in the homicide. On April 22, 2025, Pine Bluff Police Department detectives located and apprehended Turner without incident.

Turner has been charged with Capital Murder and Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons. He was transported to the Jefferson County Jail, where he is currently being held.

The swift apprehension of the suspect was made possible by the diligence and tireless efforts of the Pine Bluff Police Department's investigative team. While an arrest has been made, the investigation remains active and ongoing.
