Bank Robbery Suspect Taken Into Custody

At approximately 2:10 PM on November 19, 2024, Pine Bluff authorities responded to a robbery at Simmons Bank, located at 1704 North University Drive. According to the bank teller, the suspect, who she identified as being a black female and wearing all black, handed her a note demanding cash and claiming to have a gun. The suspect received an undetermined amount of money before fleeing the scene.
Video surveillance from Simmons showed the suspect leaving the scene in a tan 2005 to 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt, which was seen traveling toward Altheimer, Arkansas.
A "Be on the Lookout" (BOLO) alert was issued to surrounding law enforcement agencies. An Arkansas State Trooper (Troop E) located and stopped the vehicle at a four-way stop near Altheimer and contacted Pine Bluff Police Detectives.
Pine Bluff Police Detectives responded to the scene, impounded the vehicle, and had it towed to the police armory for further investigation.
The suspect, later identified as 39-year-old Constance Thacker, was taken into custody and transported to the Pine Bluff Detective's Office for questioning.
Thacker is charged with two counts of Aggravated Robbery and two counts of Theft of Property. She is being held at the W.C. "Dub" Brassell Adult Detention Center.
Further investigation revealed that Thacker is believed to be responsible for a second robbery that occurred on November 18, 2024, at approximately 6:39 PM at the Hazel Street Corner Store, located at 2118 W. 13th Avenue. In this incident, a black female matching Thacker's description handed the cashier a note demanding cash. Surveillance footage showed the suspect fleeing in the same vehicle Thacker was driving during her apprehension near Altheimer.
Pine Bluff Police Detectives are actively investigating all leads.
