Homicide

                On June 17, 2024, at about 8:30 AM, Officers of the Pine Bluff Police Department responded to a reported shooting at 2517 S. Cherry, Cherry St. Liquor. When officers arrived, they located 44-year-old Mary Christopher in a black passenger car located on the parking lot. Mary had apparent gunshot wounds and was unresponsive. She was later pronounced dead at the scene.

                   Witnesses stated that Mary's husband, 58-year-old Gregory Christopher Sr. was talking to her from outside of the vehicle when he shot her. Gregory then fled the scene. Mary's 8-year-old son was in the vehicle when Mary was shot. He did not receive any physical injuries. The motive for the homicide is unknown at this time.

                   Just after 10:00 AM, and officer advised that Gregory Christopher's vehicle was seen on a FLOCK camera entering Regional Park. Officers responded to Regional Park and located Mr. Christopher in his vehicle near the waterfront. Mr. Christopher had what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
